WHS Students Compete at DECA Career Development Competition

On March 6 2018, 33 Wethersfield High School students attended the Connecticut DECA Career Development Competition at the Aqua Turf in Southington. Approximately 1100 students from across the state of CT participated and competed in this conference which serves as a showplace for skills learned by students in marketing education instructional programs  Fourteen students from Wethersfield received awards and earned the right to attend the national conference which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia (April 21 - 25).

Sarah Puglielli , Abby Sullivan, and Christina Yanaros- 1st Place, Public Relations Promotion Project: “Vaping…Don’t Get Sucked In”

Nathan Hrdy and Brian Heavren - 1st Place, Franchise Business Plan: “ Bar- B-Cutie Restaurant”

Alex Bielak, Conor Keane, Lucas Torres – 2nd Place, Sports and Entertainment Promotional Plan – “Las Vegas Raiders-The Silver Plan”

Vanessa Valle and Narmina Mamedova – 2nd Place –Hospitality and Tourism Operations Research: “The Wethersfield Diner, Customer Experience Strategic Plan”

Spencer Clift – 3rd Place- Professional Selling

Chelsea Pinchera, Austin Bovino and Brianna Santilli -  3rd Place, Creative Marketing Plan: LFE WTR
