Welcome to PAC

Our Parent Action Committee is very important to Silas Deane Middle School for a variety of reasons. PAC works throughout the year to benefit the school community and create positive experiences for our students. Teachers, families, and administration all work together to provide activities and events that will benefit all of SDMS. One important function of PAC is raising funds for our school. Some ways that we do this are through our membership drive, grants, a fundraiser or two, and the social events enjoyed by our students.

PAC volunteers organize and sponsor social events and dances for the students. We encourage all students to attend and be a part of these activities, which help build peer relationships and foster independence. To provide PAC sponsored events for all the students at SDMS, we hold an annual membership drive at the beginning of the year. We are a parent volunteer committee and parent involvement is important to have a successful year for all of the students. We also encourage parents to volunteer – no matter how much your child will insist that they don’t want you to do so!  PAC meetings are held monthly on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM in the SDMS Media Center. Meetings will include staff or community presentations providing valuable parent information. All are invited to attend.
