About the PTSA

WHS PTSA Welcome Letter

The PTSA’s mission is to promote a closer relationship between home and our school for the educational benefit of the students, parents, teachers and staff of Wethersfield High School (WHS). There is no fundraising whatsoever. Meetings are held monthly, whereby parents can come to hear about the happenings at WHS.

At our monthly meetings the principal, assistant principals, and guidance department leader are always in attendance and are joined by other department leaders, guidance counselors, teachers, and student representatives. We discuss a variety of issues concerning academics, curriculum, and student activities.  These meetings are a great opportunity to learn about what is happening at WHS from the faculty, parent and student perspective, to ask questions, and to share any concerns you may have about WHS.  The meetings are basically an exchange of information and open discussions between faculty, parents, and student representatives. (And a great way to meet other parents!  Remember, there is no fundraising!) The reality is that your teenager(s) is most likely not going to provide much information to you….the PTSA is your way to stay connected and informed. Your young adults will be amazed at what you know just by coming to the meetings.

All of our communication is via e-mail. Please complete the bottom portion of this letter and Then e-mail one of the Chairpersons above under the "Contact Us" tab."  We also ask for a small ($10) contribution to help fund the few activities that the PTSA supports during the school year.  These include, but are not limited to, the Ninth Grade Awards Breakfast, Dollars-for-Scholars scholarship program, Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Safe Graduation, and the Wethersfield Schools Parents Council. Please make your check payable to WHS PTSA.

Just want your name added to the e-mail list? Then e-mail one of the Chairpersons below. Of course, you can make a contribution at any time!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact one of us.
