On Saturday, February 27, students from Silas Deane Middle School took the lead during the Middletown CTEEA VEX IQ robotics competition at Middletown High School. Twenty eight middle school teams from Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire competed using their custom built robot in this year's competition called "Bank Shot." The SDMS students worked after school during the a.s.A.p. Robotics program to design, build and test their robot for the competition. The SDMS team, called the "SDMS RoboRoars," was excited to compete at the event for the first time. The students drove their robot with patience and skill during their five qualification matches. At the end of the qualification matches, SDMS was tied for first, having scored the most points in the teamwork challenge. Please click the title for more.
