Tips for Incoming Freshmen



Parents of Sophomores- State law requires that each student have a complete health physical PRIOR to entering their junior year of high school. Any student who does not have a physical on record before the start of their junior year will not be allowed to return to school until the documentation is on record.

The WHS Boys Soccer team is the 2015 CCC Boys Soccer Tournament Champions. The Eagles, who won their second straight divisional title this year, defeated Glastonbury 2-1 in OT on Wednesday night to earn the tournament title as well. The boys also defeated East Hartford 1-0 and South Windsor 1-0 in earlier rounds of play. The state tournament begins next week and the Eagles will earn a home game. The Fall, 2015 issue highlights curriculum and events happening in all of the WHS business courses and business clubs. WHS Drama proudly presents Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night", to be performed in the Webb Elementary School Auditorium, 51 Willow Street, on November 13 &14 at 7:30pm, and November 15 at 3:30. SDMS teachers are engaging students through exciting activities connected to curricluar initiatives such as scientific inquiry, civic engagement, mathematical problem solving, test-taking strategies, finding evidence to support writing, listening skills in world language classes, and arts appreciation.
Students in Family and Consumer Science classes are reviewing multiple choice test taking skills as they participate in the "Thanksgiving Edition of The Millionaire Game".They also enjoyed a "Friendsgiving" eating the Apple Crisp they made last class.
The grade 8 social studies students on the Magenta and Turquoise teams met to share and celebrate their final products.
Fifth graders at Charles Wright organized a food and fund drive for Wethersfield Social Services to help stock the pantries for Thanksgiving. The school is thrilled to have exceeded their goal of 20 boxes of food to donate, filling about 30 boxes and raising over $300 to benefit local families. It was an effort of the whole school community.
