The new USDA breakfast and lunch regulations have required an increase in the variety and types of nutritious foods offered to students. There has also been a national push to increase breakfast consumption in children, such as through programs like breakfast in the classroom. Wethersfield Public Schools Foods and Nutrition Services Department is interested in studying what we can do to improve student school meal participation and increase student consumption of the healthy foods being offered to them. To accomplish this, we have partnered with the Cornell Center for Behavioral Economics in Child Nutrition Programs (the B.E.N. Center) in their initiative called the Smarter Lunchrooms Movement. Dear Parents: As you may be aware, enterovirus D68 has been confirmed in the state. At this time, we know of no confirmed cases within our district. Nonetheless, we are continuing to monitor attendance and promote universal precautions as means of prevention. Please click the title for more.

To the Residents, Staff and Students of the Town of Wethersfield,

Please be advised that the Athletic wing - which consists of the Pool, Gym "A", locker rooms, fitness/weight room, cafeteria, auditorium, etc; Industrial Arts wing classrooms/shops, etc; and all other classroom after-school activities - will be off limits to ALL outside organizations while construction is on-going. This will include night usage of areas other than what already has been confirmed. Any night school activity that needs to take place in these wings will be moved to other portions of the building not under construction or moved off-site to another school venue, if possible. There will also be no Park & Recreation events held at WHS while construction is present. All P&R activities are moved to other school venues until the area is reopened for public use.
Wethersfield High School sponsored events that are scheduled to take place after hours are to be dealt with on an individual basis. I will be working with Mr. Moore and Mr. Maltese regarding this usage.

Please feel free to contact my office to discuss this matter at any time. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
