The
Wethersfield Public Schools are seeking children ages 3-4 to participate in the
Developmental Early Intervention Program for the 2009-10 school year. Our
program includes children with developmental delays and same-aged children who
act as peer playmates. Currently classes are located at A.W. Hanmer School,
Highcrest School, and Samuel Webb School. Classes are held Monday through
Thursday at the following hours: 8:55 to 11:25 and 12:40 to 3:10.
Peer
playmates will be selected through a lottery system. Potential playmates will
join the preschool staff for a mini-version of the school day on Friday, January
23, 2009. The snow date is Friday, January 30, 2009. Children must be 3 years
old by September 1, 2009 to enter the lottery. Lotteries will be held for
3-year old children at A.W. Hanmer School and for four-year old children at
Samuel Webb School. The selection of students to be peer
playmates will be by a lottery. Cost per year for this 4-day
program is $800.
Parents interested in having their child participate in the peer playmate
playdate and entered into the lottery should call Mrs. Rosanne Zdrok at 571-8141 to receive a registration application for the
lottery. Due to high interest in our program, lottery slots fill quickly.
Registration for the lottery will close once these slots are full.
