This week marks a full week of on-site staff development on-site here at Charles Wright with Teacher College's staff developers Brianna Parlitsis and Alissa Levy. Teachers team with the staff developers to strengthen their skills in teaching literacy through the reading and writing workshop model. This on-site training enables our teachers to meet together, gain insights and strategies, and then watch them applied or apply them themselves with our very own students within our very own classrooms. This is a very exciting experience and has made a major impact in further developing the expertise of our teachers. Please click the title for more.

Good Afternoon Students, Parents and Guardians,
This is Mr. Moore, the Principal at Wethersfield High School. After some discussion and reconsideration the Class of 2015 Wethersfield High School Graduation time, date and venue has been changed. The commencement exercises will take place on Friday evening June 19, 2015 at 6:00 pm at Cove Park. At this time we have no plan in place for inclement weather. The date, time and venue were changed to accommodate the traditional Safe Graduation event which will be held at The Pitkin Community Center later that evening. As is the tradition, the motorcade will assemble at 4:30 pm on the 19th at WHS for interested graduates and will process to the Motor Vehicle parking lot. For planning purposes there will be two graduation practices – the first practice will be held in the new WHS gymnasium at 1:00 pm on Thursday June 18th and the second practice will be held at Cove Park at noon on the June 19th, the day of graduation. Thank you and congratulations to the Class of 2015.

Today, at Webb Elementary School, Wethersfield Mayor Paul Montinieri visited. Our students, and our mascot, were so excited to have him join us and talk a little bit about what he does for the town. He had the chance to visit our second graders and he read to them in Mrs. Carlson's classroom. The experience was a memorable one for our kids as they were able to not only meet an important politician, but they were able to sit with him and ask personal questions. A huge thank you to our Mayor and we want him to know that he is more than welcome at Webb any time! Please click the title for more.
